iGURU!’s – Weekly Review – 22nd December 2019 In the game of chess the word “Zugzwang” refers to a situation, whereby whatever move the player makes, s/he will be at a disadvantage, yet the player is compelled to move. I believe that the term “Zugzwang” is an appropriate description to describe the perilous situation facing global elites, as they struggle with diverse and multi-faceted global crisis. Living in the UK, enables one to observe the particular political crisis here, but there are similar crisis in the US, mainland Europe - Paris protests, South America (Chile, Bolivia, Colombia etc…,) Asia (Hong Kong, India.) We know that both internally and externally - globally, the current State system, its institutions, ideas and ethos, are being severely challenged. Major change is going to happen, one way or another. However, what remains to be seen – anticipated, is from where precisely, the shock to the system will come - the shock which will trigger this ‘epic change process.’ Will it be financial and economic? (for 'financial crisis' news - click here,) political and social (click here) or as a result of an incident leading to military conflict (click here,) these precipitating events are as yet unknown. As this process continues to unfold, it seems that the best, any one currently in a position of power can do, is to hang on feverishly to the status quo, however bad that looks, whilst mouthing platitudes about ‘hope’ and ‘change.’ Those leaders who have dared to propose and implement solutions, are and will continue, to face inevitable confrontation from the people. In the West we see the example of the hapless President Macron, whose Pension reform plan has resulted in a nationwide strike, by a wide range of employees/workers (for related article click here.) His plight is not an isolated one and in an article – “Americans Don’t Protest In The Streets Like the French Do – Yet” - Harold Meyerson makes an interesting comparison between the responses of the labour and workers movements in both countries (US and France) – he concludes by referring to the French situation as a ”Bargaining with the power structures in the streets? A proud French tradition – and a growing American reality.” However, for any ‘bargaining,’ to take place, their must be some ‘trust’ between the parties in the first place, globally. All trust has evaporated as people have been exposed to the ‘self – serving’ nature of their political systems, the ‘Self’ in this case being the political and oligarchic elites of most nations, the obvious lack of power within the system itself, the emptiness of political rhetoric, the powerlessness of their so-called leaders/representatives, the blatant venality and corruption, which is globally and endemic – its lack of any ‘ethical foundation.’ For example, ‘human trafficking,’ ‘slavery’ (both old and modern) and crimes against children (paedophilia) are rithe on the planet and form a regular and prominent feature of the world we inhabit. It seems that the people will not bargain with this lot for the history of their recorded crimes are legion and as a consequence not only have people lost trust in those who run the planet, but they themselves have lost the ‘right to rule’ - in a word they have lost - ‘Legitimacy!’ (for related article click here.) Hence – ‘Zugzwang’ – there is no ‘appropriate move’ for the power elite to make. They should therefore leave the board altogether. I have expressed a general sentiment, but I believe that such a conclusion is inevitable, if one seriously and impartially considers the evidence – The state of the Planet – the state of the Nation State - The state of the Environment - and the state of the People. My own researches, lead me to believe that the solutions are there, but that the people have been and are being deprived of the power to put them into practice. ‘OURABORAS’ How can this change come about? In a previous Weekly Review, I referred to the symbol of the ‘ouraboras.’ In brief, this symbol is a mystical symbol of the serpent. In this symbolic serpent image, the snake (serpent) can be seen, devouring its own tail. The symbol itself is regarded as a symbol of ‘regeneration’ and even ‘eternal Existence/Life.’ But even here, within a symbol of ‘eternity’ and ‘regeneration,’ there exists ‘destruction’ – namely, the serpent swallowing its own tail. Some would see this as ‘Creative Destruction,’ the ‘breaking of eggs (some would substitute ‘heads’) – to make an omelette’ – the Free Masonic/Illuminati - ‘Order from Chaos.’ It is a well founded and well understood ‘Cosmic Principle.’ But can any understanding/intelligence be garnered from this cosmic truth – to assist ordinary people in preparing and positioning themselves in order to secure their own, their families - and communities safety and well-being during these times? In nature, snakes shed their skins and have been known to eat their shedded skins - and in rare cases, even their own tails – often mistaking it for prey (for related article - click here.) Snakes eating their own skin is an echo of this powerful ‘ouraboras’ symbol – the old is eaten – destroyed – what relevance does this symbol of destruction have for us in general? Our default position should always be ‘Unconditional Love,’ Since this is the ultimate ‘Cosmic Principle’ (click here) and it is in times of crisis, paradoxically – that we should be especially very aware of this Universal Principle. It can often be very difficult, especially when as a Universal Principle, stripped of all abstraction – we are called upon to apply it ourselves –‘concretely,’ in an individual case (click here) - Since wise words, sayings and admonitions are all fine - but often hard to comprehend, follow and practice - when sitting on a hot stove! But we should seek to abide by and live by it – yes – even through a crisis and it can be achieved – our planet has been blessed with many fine examples – Religious/spiritual examples - Lord Yeshua, Buddha, Lao Tzu and others etc - political examples ‘Gandhi - Martin Luther King - The Way Of Peace. Through the symbol of the ‘ouraboras’ we get a hint as to how the change may occur – you see – the ‘system’ contains within itself – its own ‘destructive’ / ‘negative’ energies. At a certain point in time the dominant/ruling idea which underpins the system ‘bifurcates’/‘splits’ - and like a ‘split mind’ eventually itself, destroys the form – i.e. the snake devours its own tail. To use a martial arts example, it is the fighting technique/principle, which under pins the Tai Chi self-defence system. That of using the ‘energy’ of one’s opponent against themselves. Those who understand its application, know that in addition to having apparently ‘yielded’ to an opponent – there is ‘a point of stillness’ – an ‘inflection point,’ where the energy is shifted from one to its opposite – from ‘aggressor’ and would be ‘conqueror’ – one’s opponent is turned into ‘helplessness’ and ‘defeat.’ Through the stillness, we become the victor. There is no need to hate – Anybody. However, this ‘stillness’ has to be understood and there is insufficient space here, to go into the matter fully, save to say – it is not ‘the inert stillness’ of the ‘corpse,’ but the ‘dynamic stillness’ of all ‘organic living systems,’ which from ‘point to point’ – ‘moment to moment’ are not ‘dead,’ but are ‘vibrant’ with infinite power. It is from this ‘point of stillness,’ that the solutions are found – therefore, do not confuse stillness with the inert – the inactive, but the ‘considered’ and ‘considerable’ ‘active’ – becoming that which cannot be stopped. Through this understanding we realise that we are not the ‘necessary agents’ for the destruction and eventual collapse of the system - and that it's proponents – those who support it – those whose ideas once gave Life to the system, will eventually turn on it and destroy it. Sometimes these events occur as an act of ‘deliberate will’ by an individual or group, who on seeing the decline within the system itself, seek to change it through ‘radical change’ in an attempt to preserve it. At other times it is through internal rivalry and the corruption, which is developed within the system itself. In the article - 'Ministers ‘terrified’ as Dominic Cummings plans ‘Valentine’s massacre’ for civil service' - it explores the current status within the UK Government and civil service, following the UK elections. The article states - "One official told The Sunday Times: “Everyone either talks of eating or being eaten." Another scenario is the ‘maniacal psychopathic’ individual who having ‘attained’ power through their acts, are the seeds of the systems own eventual destruction. Then, there is simple hubris, that attitude of mind where excessive arrogant pride, will eventually lead to one’s own demise. The story of Humanity is filled with characters, who would fill all and any of the above mentioned roles – these are the agents of change, which shall ultimately destroy the system. But what of ‘the people?’ some would say – where do they fit in? – how is their energy used in this part of the process? – the process that marks the progress to extinction of the system. Romantic notions of Revolutionary change aside – mass violence is always bloody! Most people want peace, therefore although there have been forces that have stirred within them, the impulse to rage – that rage is a reluctant one – thankfully so - for obvious reasons. Since that power once unleashed cannot always be carefully, controlled and contained. To be sure, it shall go where ever it wills – and so even the most skilled ‘Social Alchemist,’ can be swept away by its power – and even destroyed in the process - these Cosmic forces should not be played with. Hence – “Zugzwang.” REFERENCES TO ARTICLES, VIDEOS ETC To view the contents of this index – click on the subject of interest below. ALPHABETICAL ORDER
